Community Guidelines
Safe · Respectful · Lawful
Welcome to the Chime community — short voice replies to daily topics and sonic cards you can save. These guidelines cover prohibited content, reporting and blocking, and how to contact the developer. Using the app means you agree to these Guidelines, the Terms of Service, and the Privacy Policy.
1. Prohibited content
- Illegal activity: drugs, firearms/explosives, terrorism, suicide encouragement, fraud, and similar;
- Sexual content: explicit material, sexual solicitation, and any inappropriate content involving minors;
- Harassment: personal attacks, hate speech, stalking, or malicious humiliation;
- Infringement: stealing others’ work, likeness, or trademarks;
- Spam / promo: click farms, “add me on chat apps,” outbound link farming, fake marketing;
- Discrimination: attacks based on race, gender, religion, disability, or other protected traits.
In-app filters catch many clear violations in titles and comments, but filters are imperfect — you remain responsible for what you post. This community is for short topic voice creation, not dating or anonymous private chat.
2. Reporting
- Report a card, comment, or user from detail, comments, or a profile — choose a reason and add notes;
- Reports enter a review queue for the developer;
- Outcomes may include hiding content, warnings, limits on posting/commenting, bans, or dismissing bad-faith reports;
- Malicious false reports may lead to limits on the reporter.
3. Blocking
- You can block a user so their cards and comments are hidden for you;
- Blocking is a local safety tool — still report serious violations;
- Unblock from Settings → Blocked Users after confirming.
4. Account actions
- Warning: for minor issues;
- Post / comment limits: temporary UGC restrictions;
- Content removal: delete violating cards or comments;
- Delete account: you can delete and clear local account data in Settings.
5. Contact the developer
For copyright, safety, or appeals, use Settings → Contact Developer / Safety, or email safety@chime.app. Include the card title, time, and screenshots when you can so we can respond faster.
